Board and Train in Austin, TX
Real structure. Better manners. More adventures with your pup.
Want calmer walks, better manners at home, or a dog who can join you for your morning coffee run? Let’s work on it.
I’m Jagger Scott, and I’ve been training dogs professionally for over nine years. Every Journey is built around your dog’s needs and the life you want to share together.
Dogs With Jag offers Board and Train Journeys in Austin with daily training in my personal home and out in the real world. Your dog stays on-site in a fully air-conditioned, camera-monitored training space under my direct care. I take only six dogs at a time, so your pup gets consistent, personal attention.
The Journey Starts here!
What Is a Board and Train Journey?
Our board and train program combines an overnight stay with daily dog training. While your dog stays with me, we practice obedience, build routines, and work on the behaviors that make everyday life harder.
Pulling on walks? Jumping on every guest? Treating the couch like a chew toy? Those habits give us a place to start.
Your dog learns throughout the day, from neighborhood walks to settling down while dinner is cooking. Before they head home, I teach YOU how to keep that progress going.
The Jag Way of Boarding and Training
My program stays small on purpose. Your dog works directly with me throughout their Journey, with daily practice inside my home and around everyday distractions.
We work on things like waiting at the door, relaxing on a dog bed, and greeting people calmly. When your pup is ready, we take those skills to parks, coffee shops, and dog-friendly patios.
I use balanced training, with rewards, clear expectations, and corrections tailored to your dog. We’ll discuss the approach and equipment that fit your pup’s needs.

What Your Pup Can Learn
Every dog starts somewhere different. We tailor the training to your goals, and longer Journeys give us more time to build on those skills.
-
We build a foundation of sit, down, stay, place, heel, recall, and leave it. We also practice loose leash walking, waiting at doorways, impulse control, and polite greetings.
-
Daily home training gives us a chance to work on jumping, counter surfing, chewing furniture, and unwanted barking. Your pup also practices what I call “the art of being bored”: settling down when nothing exciting is happening.
-
We practice engagement and obedience around sights, sounds, people, and other dogs at a pace that fits your pup. If reactivity or aggression is part of the picture, contact me so we can discuss your dog’s behavior and training needs.
Board and Train Programs and Pricing
2-Week Journey: $2,595
A foundation for dogs learning on-leash obedience and everyday manners. We focus on core commands, loose leash walking, recall, greetings, and impulse control. You’ll receive a customized send-off packet to help you practice at home.
4-Week Journey: $3,495
More time for dogs who need behavior work or owners working toward that “take me anywhere” pup. This Journey builds on the two-week foundation with additional home behavior training and practice in public settings.
6-Week Journey: $4,595
For owners looking to build advanced obedience and off-leash skills. This Journey includes the two- and four-week training foundations, plus E-collar training and additional practice around distractions.
Aggression cases are assessed individually, with pricing determined case by case.
Need Help With Potty Training?
Potty training is tough! We can work on it alongside obedience through a Board and Potty Train Journey.
This option requires a minimum four-week stay and adds $1,000 to the program price. Your dog stays inside my home throughout the program so we can build a consistent bathroom routine. Dogs must be crate trained before enrolling. If yours isn’t, contact me for homework to get started.
Only one potty training spot is available each month. Explore our potty training program.
A Day in the Journey
We start with potty breaks, breakfast, and time to play. Play groups are chosen around each dog’s size, temperament, and needs.
Neighborhood walks help us practice recall and engagement. One-on-one sessions give us time to focus on your pup’s goals and find the toys, treats, and games that motivate them.
Home rotations bring training into daily life. We practice settling, door manners, and staying calm around household activity. Public outings give dogs a chance to use their skills around new distractions when they’re ready.
There’s time for rest, too. Dinner, evening routines, and a final potty break round out the day. Good pups need their beauty sleep!
You Learn Too
During your dog’s stay, you’ll receive weekly updates, pictures, and detailed training videos every two weeks.
At pickup, we spend two hours practicing together. I’ll walk you through the commands, handling skills, and routines your dog has learned, and answer your questions.
You’ll also receive a follow-up lesson within 60 days. Your dog’s Journey continues at home, and I’m here to help you keep working on it.
